NORGIPS Porogrunt
Gypsum plaster and primers

NORGIPS Porogrunt

Primer intended for absorbent surfaces inside buildings

Application:
  • Evens out the absorption rate and improves the adhesiveness prior to laying:
    • gypsum plasters
    • cement-lime plasters
    • dry plaster on gypsum adhesive spots
  • Vertical and horizontal surfaces built of cellular concrete blocks, porous ceramic elements, ceramic components etc.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

The substrate should be dry, stable and in sound condition and free of dirt, dust, loose particles, oil and other grease, mould, bleed water and efflorescences.

Dull permanent or impermeable to water paint coatings, remove coatings not resistant to water.

The substrate on which Norgips Porogrunt is to be applied should be properly seasoned and its moisture content must not exceed 3%.

PRIMER PREPARATION

Before starting work, mix the contents of the package thoroughly. Dilute the Norgips Porogrunt priming agent with clean water in a ratio of 1:1, 1:2 or 1:3, depending on the absorption rate of the given substrate. For ceramic substrates it is recommended to apply a ratio of 1:3, while for highly absorbent substrates (such as cellular concrete), a ratio of 1:2 or 1:1 is recommended.

PRIMING

After reaching the appropriate proportions, mix the priming agent thoroughly. The Norgips Porogrunt primer must not be mixed with other materials.

When applying the primer, the minimum substrate and room air temperature must not be lower than +5°C.

The diluted primer can be laid on the substrate with a roller, brush or by spraying. Wash the tools with water immediately after completion of work. A dried-up primer can be washed off with a synthetic resin solvent (e.g. acetone, ethyl acetate).

The drying time of the Norgips Porogrunt primer depends on the substrate absorption rate, temperature and relative air humidity in the room, but is not less than 12 hours. Room ventilation shortens the primer drying time, but the minimum air temperature outside the room must not be lower than + 5° C.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Store the buckets at a temperature not lower than +5°C.
  • The shelf life is 12 months from the production date.
