Can Norgips plasterboards be used on building exteriors?

Unfortunately, they cannot be used in such applications. Norgips plasterboards are intended for building interiors.

In which applications are GKBI type H2 Norgips plasterboards recommended?

These plasterboards offer enhanced resistance to moisture, so they should be used in rooms with periodically increased moisture levels, e.g. bathrooms, showers, washing rooms or kitchens.

In which applications are GKF type DF Norgips plasterboards recommended?

These plasterboards offer enhanced resistance to fire, so they should be used in construction partitions with a qualified fire resistance degree.

In which applications are GKFI type DFH2 Norgips plasterboards recommended?

These plasterboards offer enhanced resistance both to fire and moisture, which makes them suitable for such applications as construction partitions with a qualified fire resistance degree in rooms with periodically increased moisture levels.

What is the fire resistance value of Norgips plasterboards?

Norgips plasterboards are non-flammable. However, the notion of fire resistance is applied to construction partitions, i.e. partition walls, curtain walls, suspended ceilings or attic enclosures. Such partitions comprise a structure typically made of galvanised steel profiles to which one or several layers of (usually fire-resistant) plasteboards are attached. These partitions may be filled with mineral wool. The fire resistance of such partitions may be up to 3 hours.

What types of plasterboards are marked with the following symbols: GKB type A, GKF type DF, GKBI type H2 and GKFI type DFH2?

  • GKB type A - a plasterboard with a front on which gypsum plaster or decorations may be applied;
  • GKF type DF - a plaster board with controlled density (D) and enhanced core coherence at high temperatures (F)
  • GKBI type H2 - a plasterboard of reduced water absorptivity
  • GKFI type DFH2 - a plasterboard with controlled density (D), enhanced core coherence at high temperatures (F) and reduced water absorptivity (H2)
