The Norgips Construction Industry Barometer 2022 is dedicated to one of the most rapidly growing industries in Poland. We asked contractors in the renovation and construction industry in Poland what is really important to them in their work. What challenges do they face? What needs do they have? What is worth changing? And all this at the dawn of summer, which is the industry's hottest period.
Who were we talking to?
This is one of the first such studies in Poland. We have not analysed contractors delivering major infrastructure projects or estates for developers, and it is vain to look here for macroeconomic data. We decided to ask contractors what challenges they face. Not so much so-called 'handymen', but companies employing up to nine people, although the largest group are those employing between two and five people (63 per cent of respondents). They are micro-enterprises involved in the day-to-day renovation of houses, flats and commercial premises..
What information will you find in the report?
Up to now, we have mainly heard about professionals dictating terms to those wishing to renovate or build. What does it look like from the other side? What are the reasons that the image of the contractor is not unequivocally positive among customers?

factors influencing contractors' failure to meet deadlines
assessment of working conditions in the sector
points to some solutions that can be implemented nationwide by both public institutions, such as vocational schools, but also other participants in the industry - manufacturers of materials or equipment - which can improve the quality of services for micro-entrepreneurs by organising appropriate training or courses.
The report was commissioned by NORGIPS and conducted by the research agency Atena Research & Consulting.
