Friendly interior microclimate thanks to ecological Norgips plasterboards

Plasterboard is very popular primarily because of its

functional qualities, final aesthetics and ease of installation.

They are valued for their environmentally friendly properties from the raw material stage, through production and use to disposal. However, not everyone knows that this is a solution that also has a beneficial effect on indoor air quality.

Power from nature

The basic ingredient in plasterboard is gypsum.

Its natural properties make it ideal as a specific building material. Thanks to its ability to absorb excess moisture and give it back when the room air gets too dry, gypsum helps to regulate indoor humidity levels.

Ecological production process

The cardboard used for plasterboard is made from recycled paper. And where does the plaster come from?

Gypsum is extracted by open-cast mining from natural deposits or at the flue gas desulphurisation stage of thermal power plants. This is a very environmentally important process that prevents the emission of sulphur and nitrogen oxides that are the cause of acid rain. During desulphurisation in an aqueous environment, the crystallisation process effectively precipitates and separates any unnecessary or potentially harmful substances. Gypsum extracted by this method is pure and does not contain clay or mineral salts, for example. Moreover, the process does not generate nuisance waste. In addition, the material is regularly tested in laboratories for undesirable ingredients, among other things. Only products that are fully safe for the environment therefore reach the market.

Lightweight, durable, environmentally friendly

Basic and compliant with building Rules, the different types of Norgips plasterboard undergo a micro-foaming process at the production stage, which makes them lighter without losing their strength and installation properties.

Norgips lighter boards not only mean greater comfort on a micro level, but also minimise the environmental impact on a macro level. The lower loading weight allows more plasterboard to be transported at one time, making the delivery process more environmentally friendly.

Tests have shown that the lightweight boards made of pure and environmentally safe micro-foamed gypsum are just as strong as those of other manufacturers. Thanks to its expertise and modern technology, Norgips puts high-quality products into the hands of its customers that are created in harmony with the environment.
